Most Common Planning Mistakes #6: Micromanaging
Couples love to have everything coordinated ahead of time on their wedding day, scheduled down to the last second. And rest assured there are plenty of aspects of your Big Day that you can exhibit that kind of control over. The seating arrangements, for example, or the timeline of events. Giving one to a bus driver or anyone else who might be driving is a great way to ensure everyone knows where they're going and timing does not get thrown off.
Taking control of your vendors and the venue's staff working on your big day? Not a great plan. Don't forget you've hired these people for a reason; they're professionals, and they know what they're doing. They work every day in this environment, and know the general rhythm of how an event like a wedding should go probably much better than you do.
You should always be clear about what you want from your coordinator, DJ, photographer - but you should also trust them enough to give them the creative license to do the job you hired them for.
